Position Overview

Capital Government Solutions (CGS) is seeking professional Cleared American Guards (CAGs) to support a classified construction security program in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Cleared American Guards serve as the first line of defense for secure construction sites by controlling access, screening personnel and vehicles, conducting inspections, and enforcing security procedures established under the project's Construction Security Plan (CSP). Working under the direction of the Site Security Manager (SSM), CAGs help protect sensitive government facilities during construction and ensure that only authorized personnel, equipment, and materials enter the secure worksite.

This position is ideal for military veterans, security professionals, law enforcement personnel, and individuals with experience working in controlled-access environments who are committed to supporting national security missions.

Key Responsibilities

Enforce all security procedures established by the Construction Security Plan (CSP) and applicable ICD 705 requirements.
Control access at designated vehicle and pedestrian entry points.
Verify credentials and authorize entry for approved personnel entering the construction site.
Screen workers, visitors, vehicles, equipment, materials, and deliveries entering or leaving the secure perimeter.
Conduct inspections to prevent the introduction of prohibited items, including weapons, explosives, unauthorized electronics, and other restricted materials.
Inspect vehicles, construction materials, and equipment entering secure work areas.
Conduct roving patrols throughout the construction site to identify potential security concerns.
Monitor site activity and maintain awareness of unusual or suspicious behavior.
Immediately report security incidents, suspicious materials, unauthorized activities, or security concerns to the Site Security Manager (SSM).
Maintain accurate access control logs, visitor records, vehicle inspection records, and other required security documentation.
Support the overall security posture of the project by ensuring compliance with established security procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications

Active SECRET Security Clearance
Experience in security, military, law enforcement, force protection, access control, or related fields
Ability to professionally interact with workers, visitors, and government personnel while enforcing security procedures
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Proven situational awarness

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting classified construction projects
Experience conducting vehicle inspections and access control operations
Experience working in Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or federal environments
Military, law enforcement, or security operations background
Familiarity with ICD 705 construction security requirements

Schedule

Primarily Monday–Friday during normal project working hours, with occasional Saturday support as required by project operations.

Compensation

$33-$39/ hour
